Shopping Centers

Grand Mall Varna – The largest and most popular mall in the city.
What you’ll find: International brands (H&M, Zara, Nike, Reserved), electronics, cosmetics, and a big food court.
Location: Near the Varna Central Bus Station / OMV on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd.
Tip: There’s a free shuttle from Golden Sands in high season, or you can reach it by bus or taxi.

Delta Planet Mall – Varna’s newest shopping center.
What you’ll find: Global and Bulgarian brands, restaurants, and a cinema.
Location: West of the Sea Garden, on Slivnitsa Blvd.

Central Varna (Knyaz Boris I Boulevard) – The main pedestrian shopping street.
What you’ll find: Boutiques, souvenir shops, cafés, jewelry stores, and Bulgarian designer shops in beautiful old buildings.
Tip: Perfect for a leisurely walk — this street connects the Cathedral area with the Sea Garden.

Local Markets and Handicrafts

Varna Central Market (Kolhozen Pazar) – A traditional open-air market with local produce, cheese, honey, herbs, and souvenirs.
Tip: Try local rose products and handmade ceramics.

Crafts and Art Markets (in the Sea Garden) – In summer, local artists set up stands near the Seaside Alley and Festival Complex, selling jewelry, sea-glass art, wooden carvings, and paintings.

Boutique Shops near the Roman Baths and the Cathedral – Small, often family-run shops selling traditional Bulgarian embroidery, handmade soaps, wines, and local spirits like rakia.

Shopping Tips Varna

Currency: EUR from 2016 onwward. Cards are widely accepted, but small markets often prefer cash.

Bargaining: Not common in malls, but you can try (politely) in open-air markets.

Opening Hours: Most shops are open 10:00–21:00. Markets often open earlier.

How to Get to Varna from Golden Sands

Bus lines: No. 9, 409, or 109 connect Golden Sands with Varna.

The buses run roughly every 15–20 minutes in summer.

Duration: 35–45 minutes to the city center.

Fare: around 2–3 BGN (≈1.50 EUR) per person.

Buses stop at major places such as Cathedral (Varna Center), Railway Station, and Grand Mall.

Tip: The 409 bus is the most convenient if you want to reach Varna Airport or Grand Mall.

Morning: Take bus 409 or a taxi to Varna city center.

Late morning: Stroll along Knyaz Boris I Blvd, do some boutique shopping, and grab a coffee.

Lunch: Enjoy seafood at a restaurant near the Seaside Promenade.
