Day 1: Arrival Sofia Tou


We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for the first night in Sofia.



Day 2: Sofia - Veliko Tarnovo


In the morning you will visit the city of Sofia. The capital and also the largest city in Bulgaria. The city was founded some 7,000 years ago as Serdika by the Tracians. City tour including; the University, Parliament, Russian Church, the Roman roundabout St George and, as icing on the cake, the “Boyana Church”. Departure towards Veliko Tarnovo.


Day 3: Veliko Tarnovo + Etara - Kazanlak


Guided tour in the ancient capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (1187 - 1393), Veliko Tarnovo. Built on 3 hills; Tsarevets, Trapezitsa and Sveta Gora is one of Bulgaria's oldest cities. During your program you will visit the highlight of the city, the royal hill Tsarevet, with the Patriarchate, ruins of the royal residence and the Boudewijn Tower, where according to legend Boudewijn IX Count of Flanders was imprisoned. Afterwards walk through the craft street Gurko and Samovodskata.


In the afternoon departure to the Rose Valley, with the city of Kazanlak in the center. The region is known worldwide as the place of choice for rose oil production. The rose was brought from India through Asia Minor to this unique microclimate and produces its unique oil.



Day 4: Kazanlak - Plovdiv


Visit to the Ethnographic Complex Damascena. Located between the heart of the Rose Valley, Kazanlak, and the city of Balneology and Spas, Pavel Bania, we will visit the rose thistle farm here. It is built according to the old customs and rules as it was done 340 years ago. In this complex we show you the traditional process of cooking roses, so that you can see the old customs with your own eyes. After the interesting visit we conclude with a rose liquer and lunch with a beautiful view of the Stara Planina. From here it goes to the second largest city in this country, Plovdiv.



Day 5: Plovdiv + Bachkovo - Pamporovo


After breakfast, our full attention goes to the beautiful city of Plovdiv. The art city of Bulgaria and one of the oldest cities in Europe. As the second largest city in the country, the center is bustling with life, but we are not here for the contemporary but for the historic heart in the Old Town. Visit the Ethnographic Museum, the St Konstantin & Elena Church and the many houses from the time of the Bulgarian Rebirth. Before spending a second night in Plovdiv, we make a serenity stop at the Bachkovo Monastery.


Day 6: Shiroka Laka + Jagodinska Peshtera


Today we visit a real pearl in the Rhodope Mountains. Shiroka Laka. The village where the Bulgarian Gaida, or bagpipe, was born. With its typical houses in the traditional style in the middle of the Rhodope Mountains, a true paradise for the amateur photographer. We go deeper into Bulgaria, this time literally, because we descend into the Jagodinska Peshtera. A cave of no less than 10 km long. Overnight in Panagyurishte



Day 7: Panagyurishte + Koprivshtitsa


Of course, we leave the best as the end. The towns of Panagyurishte and Koprivshtitsa. The first is known as the city of the Thracian Gold Treasure and its importance in the struggle against the Ottoman yoke for the liberation of Bulgaria. The second is a real gem, with its colorful houses the city feels like a rainbow. To round off our time together nicely, we invite you to the Stara Kushta restaurant for a traditional Bulgarian meal with all the trimmings.
